about me
ARAKSYA HOVSEPYAN
Hi guys!
Araksya Hovsepyan was born in 1983 in the former Soviet Union, now the Armenian capital of Yerevan. From an early age, it was evident that Araksya was an extraordinarily gifted dancer and musician. As a child prodigy, she was flown around the world to compete in ballroom dancing competitions, winning numerous awards. Araksya was also an accomplished flutist, honing her skills and performing with renowned musicians at the prestigious Yerevan Conservatory.
At age 19, Araksya moved to the United States to study at Columbia University, embarking on a new chapter filled with challenges like navigating a foreign language and culture. Through perseverance and passion, she carved out a successful career, immediately getting hired by the world-famous dancer Mario Battista upon arriving stateside.
Around the same time, Araksya made connections with a top plastic surgeon who trained her in the field so she could assist him on a higher level. She also rekindled her childhood passion for painting oils – an art form she always felt she didn’t have enough time for in the past. While building her skills and working with top surgeons in Manhattan, Araksya continued developing her talents as a painter, often depicting dancing figures which she knew intimately from her expertise in dance.
Now based in New York City, Araksya’s flair for movement and music permeates her colorful, textured paintings and multimedia works. Though the journey has had ups and downs, Araksya’s determination and diverse talents have enabled her to share her unique artistic vision with the world.
